How an interest in set design led to an unusual sponsorship.

The Lir, National Academy of Dramatic Art, Dublin, Ireland Since 2011, the Lir has provided education in all aspects of theatre education. This includes stage management, technical design, woodwork, costume, set, lighting design, and prop production. Affiliated with Trinity College, Dublin and RADA, London, it has quickly become one of Europe’s leading dramatic arts academies.

Inspire took a keen interest in their set and prop design department. The Lir stages 10 large scale productions each year, which each require tailored and specific visual props. Everything is designed and produced on site by students.

After exploring the idea of becoming a technical partner with the Lir, Inspire are now delighted to be a sponsor of the institution. A Formech 508FS vacuum forming machine with additional auxiliary products has been donated so that students of all fields can experience vacuum forming as a design and production tool. Staff and students also received a day of training in March 2018 when the machine was installed on campus in Dublin.

The entire Inspire Formech team is proud to be backstage, helping tomorrow’s theatre designers achieve their dreams. How can we help you? Find out more
